A mandala is a tessellation of a photograph that forms unique geometric shapes. I created these circular madalas by using the template from Ms. Moncure. I used the wand tool to highlight one area of the template, then I moved that over my picture. I copy and pasted the part of the picture I wanted to tesselate into that slice of the template. I moved that slice back into the template and then repeatedly duplicated and transformed the pictures to form the complete madala. I liked all the cool shapes the madalas made. My favorite madala is the one with the black background. I struggled with the selection of the template at first because i was using the wrong tool. If I were to do it over again I would take more unique pictures that had more shape to them.

A tessellation is when a piece of a picture is repeated multiple times to create a unique shape. To make the tessellation I made a template. Then I cropped the piece of the picture I wanted to use. I then moved this piece into my template. I duplicated the image and transformed many times to make the tessellation. My favorite image is the first one on top, with all the green leaves. I Liked how the shapes turned out and the color. I struggled with actually making the shapes because I wouldn't flip them the right direction. If I had to do it over again I would take more pictures that had different colors.
For this project my partner brought in various fruits, nuts and dishes. What I learned from this project is that food photography really depends on one's use of color, and you should use colors that go well together. Also I found that the gold reflector adds a really nice gold light and the tin foil one produced more of a grayish white. Also I found that how you position the food is important and that different views can be pleasing. To make my shots look professional I used the reflector and I used a sheet as a background so you could not see the school. What I learned from the video is that professional food photography incorporates non-food products into their pictures to make it look better. These products range from glue for milk to wax to make a drink look chilled. A career in food photography would be a food stylist. I think my lighting and set up was good. Yes this was something I would do again because I really enjoyed setting everything up and they turned out good.
I did my middle name for this project because I just wanted to switch things up a little. To make this photo I first opened up the 5 letter template from common drive onto photoshop. Then I dragged each picture into the template and adjusted it to fit in the box. Then i turned the picture black and white by going under adjustments and clicking black and white. I struggled with editing one of the photos in photoshop by cropping and flipping it, but I eventually was able to get it. I was proud of how every other part went, like turning it black and white. I like how my picture is unique, just like how every one's is unique to them. However I struggled finding objects that looked like the letters i needed, and I think I could have gotten better ones.
In this picture I photoshopped my face on to a character named Phoebe in the show Friends. I chose this as my celebrity because I've been really into the show friends lately. I love the show and I think Phoebe is a really funny character. To make this picture I downloaded a large, clear image from google of the cast and I also took a clear picture of myself. Then I made two layers with these pictures, then I lassoed my face face and placed it over Phoebe's face. Then I went adjusted my face to align the best I could with Phoebe's face. Then I used the mask tool and selected paintbrush. I used it like an eraser to get rid of any parts of my face I wanted to erase to make it more realistic. Lastly, I merged the layers and saved my picture. My career is an occupational therapist. This job includes the physical rehabilitation of patients, by helping them learn how to perform day to day tasks if they have lost a limb or have a disability. My ideal day would include living in a house by the beach and working in a hospital. I would be happy working there and go home to my family every day. I would also enjoy working with kids.
